"Congratulations to all of the pupils at Wayland Academy! Your outstanding results are a testament to your hard work and dedication.

It has been a privilege to work with you and support you over the past five years, and I am grateful to have you as my last Wayland cohort.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff who have gone above and beyond to make this achievement possible.

I wish you well and good luck for all of your achievements in the future."

Executive Principal Iain Mackintosh said:

“Our pupils are not only a credit to the school, but the wider community as well, who I’m sure will want to join in with congratulating them for their hard work.

Sitting GCSEs can be incredibly daunting and our young people have shown courage and resilience and should be proud of their results.”

Kun Xin achieved five grade 9s in his GCSEs and was among the most successful students from this years cohort.

“I am hoping to go into a career in STEM and going to Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form this September. I am going to be studying maths, further maths, physics and computer science. All the teachers at Wayland Academy have been so supportive during my time here. I joined in Year 10 and everyone was so welcoming to me, it was really easy to settle in. I’m really happy with my results and looking forward to the future!”

Patrycja achieved 11 GCSEs with an amazing grade 9 in her Art GCSE and five more grades at 7+.

“I feel really great now I have got my results. I am so proud of myself for doing really well in Art and getting a 9! This September I am off to Dereham Sixth Form to study art, psychology and maths and excited for the future. Looking back at my time at Wayland, it has been great, even though we were impacted by COVID we worked hard and have overcome it with amazing results. I’m now looking to my next steps and excited to see where they will take me!”

Alana was really pleased with her results and did even better than she had hoped, she received a fantastic eight grades at 7+

Alana said:

“I’m so happy, I even got higher results than I thought I would! The exam period wasn’t so bad but the anticipation was difficult to get through, I felt so relieved after my exams and thought they went well which was good. After Wayland I am going to study A-levels at Wymondham High to study product design, maths and art – I hope to become an architect in the future!

Due to COVID our first full year without interruption was in Year 9, sometimes it felt like we were having to catch up because it had such a big impact on being able to come into school and learn. We have overcome that now and I am so pleased with my fantastic results.”
