Leadership Update from Mr Mackintosh
BackDear Families,
I am writing to let you know that at Christmas I will be leaving Wayland Academy to join another Multi-Academy Trust in Cambridgeshire. I have loved every minute of my time as the Principal of Wayland Academy and before that as the Director of Inclusion for the Inspiration Trust. I feel immensely proud of what has been and continues to be accomplished at Wayland and all of the Trust schools and know that Wayland Academy will continue to go from strength to strength under the new Principal.
I appreciate that a change of leadership so soon after the departure of Mr Allott may come as a shock but I know that I leave the school in a very strong position. Wayland is a school where behaviour is very good, attendance is high, teaching and learning are exceptional and the sense of community and joy is real.
One of the many benefits of being part of a Multi Academy Trust, like Inspiration Trust, is the wealth of talented staff it attracts. This ensures that we have leaders who know what exceptional education looks like, understand the priorities in our schools and have the knowledge and experience to lead with confidence. I am pleased to inform you that my replacement will be Ms Lucy Austin. Ms Austin is an experienced Principal who has led schools in both Norfolk and Suffolk, most recently as the Principal of East Point Academy in Lowestoft. I am confident that Ms Austin and the existing team will continue to improve the school and ensure that Wayland Academy continues to be the school that the community deserves.
I just want to say a huge thank you to all of the pupils, and you as their parents, for making my time at the school so enjoyable and rewarding.
Yours faithfully,
Iain Mackintosh
Executive Principal
