Wayland Academy Shines in Rankings with Outstanding Progress Score

Wayland Academy are proud to announce that the Progress 8 score for the academy, positions them as the 2nd best in Norfolk for progress, an enormous score of +0.61.

This is a fantastic achievement and means that pupils that attend the academy make, on average, over half a level more progress in each of their subjects than pupils at the same starting point from other schools. This means that the school is one of the top performing schools for progress across the entire country. 

Iain Mackintosh, Executive Principal at Wayland Academy said: 

“This fantastic news recognises the high standards at the school that we see every day. Our teaching and curriculum, as well as the positive school culture have been key in achieving these results and we are so proud of our pupils. Being the second highest achieving school in the whole of Norfolk is a credit to our pupils, their families, our staff and our wider community for the effort they put in to securing these amazing outcomes.

 

Sitting GCSEs is one of the most daunting experiences that our young people will have faced up to this stage in their lives. Our pupils continue to show courage and resilience to achieve highly, making all of us at the academy proud.” 

With the recent publication of Department for Education performance tables, there has been much to be proud of at Wayland Academy. The fantastic progress that pupils achieve has been recognised and goes hand in hand with another year of successful GCSE results.
